Brothers, we need you in this fight.

Recall Joby Martin’s story from the closing service of this year’s No Regrets Conference. His son JP, a 17-year-old high school senior, witnessed a horrific car accident while driving to school. A sedan was T-boned by a truck, flipped upside-down and slid 30 feet into a gas station. While others stood by, phones in hand, recording the tragedy, JP ran towards the wreckage. He didn’t wait for someone else to take charge. He cut open seatbelts, helped pull the four passengers from the crushed car, and offered comfort amidst the chaos. He ran to the pain, not away from it.
When JP later told this story to his father, Joby asked him, “Was anyone helping you?” JP replied, “Dad, I just did what I was supposed to do. I could hear the crowd, and assumed that when I looked up there would be a bunch of people to help… but all they were doing was taking videos on their phones.”
How many of us would do the same? In a world filled with need, how many Christian men are standing on the sidelines instead of running to the action? We live in a time where too many are content to watch, to observe, to wait for someone else to step up. But that’s not what we’re called to do. We are called to run to the fire, to the pain, to the blood.
Remember this: The moment you were rescued by God’s grace, you became part of the rescue team. We were the broken ones, lost in sin. But God, in His infinite love, came down, took on human form, lived a perfect life, died for our sins, and rose from the dead. Because He conquered death, we too can walk out of the grave.
There are people counting on you. There are future generations, great-great-grandchildren you’ll never know, whose lives will be shaped by the decisions you make today. The only way to truly stand up and act like a man is to first bend your knee to the man who came on a rescue mission for you – Jesus Christ. When you surrender to Him, God will equip you with everything you need to accomplish the purpose He has called you to fulfill.
